I’ve always been drawn to challenges that demand strength, resilience, and grit. Growing up, I played soccer, hockey, and rugby, and I spent countless hours in the boxing ring. Team sports taught me the value of discipline, hard work, and brotherhood — lessons that carried into every chapter of my life.
In my early 20s, I focused on rugby at the Division 1 level, competing provincially several times. At the same time, my passion for weight training grew. The weight room became my second home, a place to build the strength and power I needed on the field — and eventually on the fireground.
But I’ve never been limited to one sport. Endurance became another test of will. Over the years I’ve completed two ultra-marathons, multiple full marathons, an Olympic triathlon, the Penticton GranFondo, and countless half marathons and trail races. I also trained and coached at a high level of boxing. These experiences gave me a deep understanding of performance across energy systems — power, strength, endurance, and recovery.
Today, I serve as a career firefighter with the City of Vancouver. I know firsthand what the job demands: long nights, heavy packs, heat that tests your limits, and the constant push to be ready for the next call. I’ve dealt with injuries along the way — the same shoulders, knees, and back issues that sideline so many firefighters. But each setback has fueled my mission: to build training systems that prevent injury, restore strength, and keep us performing for the long haul.
Outside the station and the gym, I’m a husband and proud dad of twin boys, who keep me on my toes every day. Family drives everything I do — and it’s why I believe in training not just for performance, but for life.
